The 14th Annual Sports Meet at OPBMS
     
     

The 14th Annual Sports Meet was held at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh. The hallmark of the day was the mass participation. More than 2400 children took part in races, gymnastics, hurdles, High jump, long jump etc. Mr. Arun Sekhri IAS, the Deputy Commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib was the Chief Guest who expressed his joy having witnessed such a show of high standard & admired the amazing involvement of the children. The function began with a sentimental tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their motherland. The children carrying the coffin on their shoulders wrapped in a tri-colour on the melodious song “Ae Mere Watan k Logo, Zara Aankh mein bhar lo paani” stole the limelight. The Chief Guest stressed upon the value of games in our day to day lives & also inspired the students to play in true spirit to build up their fitness as well as their character. The Founder & Chairman Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal appreciated & lauded the efforts of the staff & students.


 
The Diwali Food Carnival
     
     

The Joy & excitement could be Sensed all around at OM Parkash Bansal Modern School where The Annual Diwali Food Carnival was celebrated exclusively by the students. Dr. Amarbir & Dr. Lal presided over the function. There were around 105 food stuffs put up by the children. The chief guest interacted with the budding chefs finding out the ingredients of the recipes. The Chairman Mr. Vijayant Bansal lauded the efforts of the children. The Principal, Mr. P.K Arora highlighted the value of ‘organic’ foods & advised the children to celebrate the festival with full care & Caution.


 
Teachers’ Day Celebration
     
     

The Teachers’ Day was celebrated amidst much fan & fare at OPBMS, Mandi Gobindgarh. The best part was the teachers performing for the children. Celebration started with the melodious prayer by teachers. Many attractive performances were performed like melody of songs, funny news & award show, skit, Bhangra, Dandia and naughty conversation between Milkha Singh & Chulbul Pandey. It was really tradition breaking show where teachers performed and students enjoyed as spectators.


 
 
Om Parkash Bansal Modern School does it again
     
     

The XII CBSE result marked another red-letter day in the school history of Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh, When Mannat Singhi topped not only in school but in the district by getting 91.8% in the medical stream. Mannat gave entire credit to her teachers and parents. The II and III positions were bagged by Ashima and Isha Verma with 87.2%, 87% respectively. In non-medical I place was obtained by Japneet Kaur with 91.4% followed by Eshaan Punj 87.4% and Darishti Jindal 80.6%. In commerce stream the first rank was bagged by Gautam Singhi 96.8%, Nikita 96.6%, Sirjandeep 96.2% respectively. The Principal and Management congratulated the toppers and the parents.


 
 
Exhibition at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School (24.01.2013)
     
     

A mammoth exhibition was organized at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh exhibiting the multifaceted talent of the children. The Principal of Modi College Patiala was the Chief Guest who forthrightly stated how he had never witnessed this kind of enthusiasm amongst children. There were different aspects which were on display right from postures of various dances, to orchestra to computers, galaxies & sciences. How to save water, environment & different species etc. There were 750 participants & 180 projects. The 3-D film, Pyramids & the study of cell hogged the limelight. The Chairman Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal lauded the efforts of the staff & the students.


 
 
OPBMS students shine in Inter Institutional Science Competition
     
     

Students of Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh brought laurels to the school in the Inter Institutional Science Competition held at M.M. Modi College, Patiala incollaboration with ISCA (The Indian Science Congress Association) on 20th Oct. Static models – “Algal Boon” and “The Dream City" bagged first and third position respectively while the working model "Wireless energy transmission" stood second in the working model category. The efforts of the team wereappreciated by one and all.


 
A multi-pronged seminar by Dr. Amarbir Singh (M.D Medicine)
     
     

A multi-pronged seminar was organized by Dr. Amarbir Singh (M.D Medicine) at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh. Dr. Amarbir himself had desired to speak to the youngsters & faculty owing to the perils faced by society. Not only did he talk on health, diet & nutritious food, he put up a powerpoint presentation to highlight Dr. Abdul Kalam, Sunita Williams & many more such people who made it in life merely by the dint of hard work. He also mentioned Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal, the founder & Chairman of the school & RIMT who has had the dream & vision of transforming such a remote area into an educational hub. His emphasis stayed on a ‘Sound mind in a sound body’.

  • Children who exercise weigh less; have lower levels of blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides, as well as lower blood pressure, than do non-exercising children.
  • Weight-bearing exercise can help prevent osteoporosis.
  • Studies have shown that exercise reduces many health risks.
  • The children who take part in sports are less likely to get involved into anti social activities.
  • Children who exercise report being happier, having more energy and feeling they are in excellent health more often than non-exercising children. They also miss fewer days of work.
  • Regular exercise improves the overall quality of life.
  • Children learn and understand the sport all the while they are having FUN !

The 65th Independence Day celebrated at OPBMS
     
     

The 65th Independence Day was celebrated with Patriotic songs & Tributes here at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School to all those who sacrificed their lives to give us this beautiful life. All around the students were seen unfurling the National flag. Portraits of many freedom fighters, Prime Ministers & Presidents were displayed in the programme. The little ones of Kindergarten added so much joy & colour to the items that the applauds ranted the air for a long duration. The Principal inspired the children to do their duty well wherever & for whatever they stand. He culminated his speech with a famous line “Jo Shaheed hue hai unki zara yaad karo kurbani”.

     

 
Science cum Arts Exhibition at OPBMS, Mandi Gobindgarh on 03.12.2011
     
     

A Science cum Arts Exhibition was organized by the enthusiastic youngsters of Om Parkash Modern School Mandi Gobindgarh. Mrs. Neelam Gulati Deputy Director of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh presided over as Chief Guest & if her words need to be quoted, those were “I’m going back altogether transformed & I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better disciplined show ever before”. The children had come up with assorted projects like on Solar Energy, stem cells, dialysis, Hydrolic Lifts, Brooklin Bridge, Atmosphere, Animal Cell, Maths, Bio & G.K. etc. There were three cash prizes which were declared on the spot & were bagged respectively by 1. Space odyssey 2. Salary budget Planning 3. Stem cells.

The Chief Guest inspired the children to branch out & diffuse all these utility projects everywhere so that the society gets benefitted.

     
 

 
Nutritious Food Day at OPBMS, Mandi Gobindgarh
     
     

To inculcate the value of nutritious food amongst the little ones of kindergarten, a food festival was organized at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School. It was an amazing experience to see the tiny-tots offering the mouth watering dishes. The Principal was all praises for the mothers not only for cooking such delicious delicacies but for enthusing the spirit of involvement amongst children. Right from idlies, dosas, Saag, Kheer & salads, every eatable was a sheer delight to look at & to eat.
