19th Annual Sports Day

If there is one field of life which teaches us the most valuable lessons about perseverance, patience in fact what constitutes a perfect character, it is sports.

After a hiatus of three years, due to the lingering fear of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school organized the 19^th Annual Sports Day, for the year 2022-23 on 19th November 2022 in the school ground which is one of its most signature events for the students. The whole playground was decorated with flags, balloons and posters for this special event which encouraged them to be persistent, to refine their talents and to achieve the greatest of the heights.

The most anticipated event of the year commenced with the arrival of the highly distinguished chief guest, Dr. B.S Bhatia-the Pro Vice-Chancellor of RIMT University. The school Principal-Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma welcomed the chief guest and the esteemed gathering.

March Past was led by the procession of prefects carrying the house flags and members of four houses. It was followed by the oath taking ceremony in which the head boy-Manik Aatli and the other students pledged to uphold the honour and the spirit of true sportsmanship. The Sports Day was inaugurated by hoisting the school Flag by the chief guest followed by the release of balloons. The sports teachers ignited the school torch and it was received by the achievers of the year in the field of sports.

A robust mind and a lively body is the fundamental requirement to live a long and happy life with message in mind, the PT display of class I aimed to enlighten to the audience the merits of living a fit and healthy life, promoting the initiative of ‘Fit India’. The students showcased impressive displays with synchronization and formation in various drills. A fitness drill performed by class V to XI with energetic music was a feast to the eyes. The highlights of the sports day were Yoga, Martial Arts, Bhangra, and Aerobics.

The audience was much excited for the field and track events. When the budding athletes reached the finishing line, the ground reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators. The Tug O’ War enraptured the audience the most as the level of excitement drastically went up pull after pull.

The Chief Guest was invited to give away the prizes and felicitate the rightful winners with medals and certificates of excellence. He addressed the gathering and congratulated all the participants. He laid emphasis on the need to imbibe qualities of discipline, sportsmanship spirit and to never be disappointed by failure in life,

The events ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the school Principal. The sports day culminated with National Anthem sung by the whole gathering with immense pride.
