Annual Sports Day

The school organized the Annual Sports Day for the year 2023-24 on 25th November 2023 in the school ground which is one of the most signature events for the students. The whole playground was decorated with flags, balloons and posters of our school sports stars which encouraged them to be persistent, refine their talents and achieve the greatest of the heights. The most anticipated event of the year commenced with the arrival of the chief guest-Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal-the Chairman of RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh and the other highly distinguished guests in the school ground. The school Principal-Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma welcomed the chief guest and the esteemed gathering.
The Sports Day was inaugurated by hoisting the school flag by the Guest of Honour-Ms. Shampy Chaudhary. It was followed by the release of balloons. The Guest of Honour along with the sports teachers ignited the school torch which was carried forward by the state medalists. March Past was led by the group of riders on horses, pillions and cycles, followed by the procession of prefects carrying the house flags and members of four houses and finally by the band troupe. It was followed by the oath taking ceremony in which the head boy-Rohan Tiwari and the other captains pledged to uphold the honour and the spirit of true sportsmanship.
The display of Yogic Asanas and Taekwando moves by the students of Pallav aimed to enlighten the audience about the merits of living a fit and healthy life, promoting the initiative of ‘Fit India’. The students of I to IV showcased impressive displays with synchronization and formation in various drills. The musical mass drill performed by Ankur and Konpal students with energetic music was a feast to the eyes. The highlights of the sports day were Yoga, Martial Arts and choreography. The audience was much excited for the field and track events. When the budding athletes reached the finishing line, the ground reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators. The Tug O’ War enraptured the audience the most as the level of excitement drastically went up pull after pull.
The Chief Guest was invited to give away the prizes and felicitate the rightful winners with medals. He also addressed the gathering and advised students to lay emphasis on the need to imbibe qualities of discipline, sportsmanship spirit and encouraged the students to keep their spirits high and become achievers at all levels including international levels too.
The event ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the school Principal. The sports day culminated with National Anthem.
